The app on your phone
GAA Pitch is a web app, so there is nothing to download. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like any other app.
No app store download
GAA Pitch is a GAA training session planner app that runs in the browser, on whatever you already have in your pocket. There is no iOS or Android download, no update to install, and the same account works on your phone, your laptop and the club laptop. Whatever you plan at home is on your phone at training.
Add it to your home screen
Adding it to your home screen gives you an icon and a full-screen window with no browser address bar, which is what you want pitch-side.
On iPhone or iPad: open gaapitch.com in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
On Android: open gaapitch.com in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
You stay signed in, so it opens straight into your saved sessions.
What it is good for on the pitch
- Pulling up tonight’s session on the sideline, with the drill diagrams and timings in front of you.
- Changing a drill on the spot when the numbers at training are not the numbers you planned for.
- Sharing the session to a team WhatsApp as an image, so players know what is coming. See sharing and exporting.
You need a connection
Worth knowing before you rely on it: GAA Pitch loads your sessions from your account, so it needs a data connection. There is no offline mode yet. If the pitch you train on has no coverage, export the session as an image beforehand and keep it in your photos, or print it.
Building a session on a phone
The session builder works on a phone, though a bigger screen is easier for dragging drills around the pitch layout. Most coaches plan on a laptop and use the phone to run the session. The building a session guide covers the builder itself.
